A Realm of Fantasy Arts - Shi Chia-Hsiang Solo Exhibition, on display at Taichung City Huludun Cultural Center until March 10

Shi Chia-Hsiang, a well-known ceramic artist in Taichung City, has devoted himself to art creation for nearly 40 years. From now until March 10, he will exhibit 'The Realm of Fantasy Arts - Shi Chia-Hsiang Solo Exhibition' at Huludun Cultural Center. He uses multiple media such as cloth, paper, wood and stone, showing 50 works including lacquer paintings, bodiless lacquerware, sculpture creations, etc., expounding the lacquer artist's literary aesthetics of life, understanding of family, and reflecting the texture of life.
Huludun Cultural Center stated that Shi Chia-Hsiang studied under the sculptor Hsie Dong-Liang and the lacquer artist Lai Gao-Shan. His works have won good results in domestic art exhibition competitions. In 2000, he participated in the most important international lacquer art exhibition "Japan Ishikawa International Lacquer Art Exhibition". The lacquer painting work "Splendid body" has been praised by famous lacquer art masters as an innovative work that combines multiple media. It has been collected by the Ishikawa Lacquer Art Museum.
Shi Chia-Hsiang and his wife Yang Mei-Ling have taken inheritance as their mission and have been teaching lacquer pottery creation in Taichung Prison for 25 years. Their students' works have won numerous awards. He won the first prize at the Ceramic Art Biennale for his "Memory Wall", which was shaped, fired and pasted using the clay pile technique. The shells and colored paint chips mean that the tortuous human heart is like a high wall that is difficult to see through.
