Encounter and Fate - the 2015 Exhibition of Dyeing Works by 50 Artists from Taiwan and Korea
Date:2015-12-01

Date: From December 23, 2015 to January 31, 2016
Venue: First Floor Cultural and Creative Exchange Area and Third Floor Weaving Craft Museum

Korea’s Naju Foundation of Natural Dyeing Culture and Taichung Municipal City Huludun Cultural Center have continued to collaborate from 2013 through 2015. The two institutions have worked together to hold the "Taiwan-Korea Natural Dyeing International Exhibition" in Korea and Taiwan, bringing the master craftsmen in the field of natural dyeing from both countries into closer interaction, thereby motivating each other to improve further. Taiwan boasts a rich variety of natural dye ingredients, yet its industry foundation remains weak. On the other hand, Korea's natural dyeing industry is successful in both industry development and related industry guidance policies; yet, the technology and expression of colors tend to be homogenous in essence between Taiwan and Korea. Hopefully, the exchange between both sides will lead to sparks of innovation and development.

From December 23, 2015 through January 31, 2016, master craftsmen specialized in the art of natural dyeing from both Korea and Taiwan will be taking part in the "Encounter and Fate - the 2015 Exhibition of Dyeing Works by 50 Artists from Taiwan and Korea." This event promises to be a great opportunity for observation and learning among the experts of dyeing from both countries and members of the public, in this joint effort for creating a feast of natural colors.
