Date:2015-11-18

Date / Time: 13:30, Saturday, November 21, 2015
Venue: 4F Briefing Room, Taichung Municipal City Huludun Cultural Center

The Huludun Cultural Center has been long devoted to the promotion of reading among children. It continues to promote reading and writing through a variety of activities, including outdoor reading, outreach visits and reading sessions, as well as guided reading of picture books and dramas, showing effective results. This year, the Center will be holding a session titled "Teenagers Reading Hands-on Symposium" as it expands its target audience from elementary school students to teenagers. We invite workers from different fields and welcome individuals interested in promoting reading to join us in igniting kids' passion for reading. The event will start at 1:30 PM this Saturday (Nov. 21st).

The Huludun Cultural Center pointed out that in the interest of promoting reading among the public, the Center offers different areas with reading materials that meet the needs of readers of all ages. On the third floor, a teenager zone has been established to house outstanding literary works from various countries. For this symposium that targets teenagers, teachers Qiu Sujuan and Deng Xueling are invited to share their long-term experience in guiding student reading activities. The speakers will offer suggestions regarding reference resources for shared reading and techniques on communication, as well as demonstrate how to conduct guided reading of young-adult fiction.

The "Using Reading to Nurture Patience in Kids: Teenagers Reading Hands-on Symposium" offers 50 vacancies with free admissions. For registration, please visit the first floor reception desk at the Center or download the registration form from our website. Let us work together to spread the seeds of reading for kids, raising a garden filled with the fun of reading at home and school, to realize the vision of a city of literature where everyone experiences the joy of reading.
