2026 Year of the Horse New Year Celebration: Master Calligraphers Present Spring Festival Couplets

To celebrate the Year of the Horse, the Huludun Cultural Center hosted the "2026 Horse-Themed New Year Celebration: Calligraphy by Renowned Artists" event on Saturday, January 24th, at 9:30 AM in the lobby. In collaboration with the Taichung City Calligraphy Association, the event featured ten distinguished calligraphers—Hong Mingzheng, Wang Jiayi, Wang Yisheng, Yao Jicong, Huang Jinchuan, Wu Guoyi, Lin Rongfu, Zheng Chengmin, Zhou Heshan, and Lin Chenshanmao—who created calligraphy works on-site. A total of 200 handwritten couplets, including seven-character couplets and calligraphy square pieces, were distributed, along with Q-version Year of the Horse red envelopes. The event attracted enthusiastic public participation. The event commenced with Director Guo of the Center delivering opening remarks on behalf of the Bureau Director, followed by a ceremonial first stroke alongside the ten masters, inscribing the auspicious blessing: “Gallant Horses Herald the New Year, Celebrating the Year of the Horse with Joyful Spring Greetings,” to convey good wishes. In addition to witnessing the master calligraphers skillfully wield their brushes and appreciating the beauty of their work, the audience was accompanied by music from the Chung Sheng Chinese Orchestra, creating a lively and festive atmosphere. The lobby featured an installation titled “Leading the Way with Artistic Horses to Welcome the New Year,” immersing visitors in the festive spirit as the public gathered to welcome a joyful and peaceful year together.
