At the warm, harvest-like close of the year, the Huludun Cultural Center hosted its annual commendation and certificate awarding ceremony for volunteer teams. The event, rich with stories, art, and emotion, celebrated the most touching moments of their dedicated volunteer service. This year’s theme, "Golden Rice Harvest, as the core visual element. Upon entering the venue, guests were welcomed by a "Harvest Gate" designed with imagery of rippling waves of rice, symbolizing the glorious moment when each volunteer stepped into the hall of achievements. Nurtured by love and cultivated with dedication, this effort blossomed into a golden and radiant cultural landscape.
At the ceremony, Hsiao Ching-ping, Chief Secretary of the Cultural Affairs Bureau, specifically commended the Huludun Cultural Center for its 40 years of operation and expressed gratitude to the volunteer team for their dedication in guiding visitors and supporting activities. She also highlighted their recent efforts to actively promote indigo dyeing by cultivating indigo artists and professional instructors to preserve this traditional craft. The indigo dyeing workshops have attracted international cultural exchange groups, making indigo dyeing a cultural highlight of the city and a symbol of Taichung's cultural warmth—an attribute increasingly recognized worldwide thanks to the volunteers' efforts.
The Huludun Cultural Center announced that 10 senior volunteers retired this year, including Yu Songgen, who served for 37 years. He participated in and witnessed the center’s opening, operation, and development into a significant arts and culture hub in the mountain town. In recognition of his contributions and dedication, he was awarded a certificate of appreciation. The center’s volunteer team has received the Ministry of Culture’s "National Outstanding Cultural Volunteer Team Award" three times, making it one of the few top volunteer teams in the country to earn this honor multiple times. This year, during the "Xinshe Citizens' Picnic Day" event, the volunteer team showcased remarkable creativity and enthusiasm by creating a dedicated indigo-dyed leisure area. The fresh and artistic atmosphere attracted many visitors who took photos and checked in, making it the most eye-catching picnic scene on social media.

This year's "Golden Rice Harvest" theme encapsulates the volunteer team's many years of dedication: they have nurtured culture with their time, supported the community with their passion, and brought art into people's hearts through their creativity. Every volunteer is a sower of urban culture, and today's ceremony marks their most bountiful harvest season. The Huludun Cultural Center invites citizens to witness this golden moment of inspiration and looks forward to welcoming more partners to join the volunteer ranks in cultivating even more cultural treasures for the city.
