The Earth sings, and the mountains echo! The beloved Indigenous Singing Competition, “ Indigenous People Original,” will be held this Saturday, November 22, at the out-door plaza of the Huludun Cultural Center. The event features indigenous music and dance, a tribal market, family-friendly hands-on workshops, and a firefighting challenge. The Huludun Cultural Center announced that the “2025 Indigenous Huludun” event is co-hosted by the Taichung City Cultural Development Foundation, the Taichung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau, and the Taichung City Indigenous Sports Association. The opening will feature a spectacular indigenous song and dance performance, followed by a musical showdown between youth and adult groups competing for top honors and cash prizes. These performances will express love for the land and pride in culture, al-lowing audiences to hear the soul of the mountains and the rhythm of the sea.
This year also features a special “Little Firefighters” parent-child experience activity! Led by professionals from the Fengyuan Branch of the Fire Bureau of Taichung City Government, children will wear fire suits, spray water to extinguish fires, learn CPR, and personally experience the mission of heroic rescue. By combining education with fun and family protection, every child can become a “little hero in everyday life.”
Additionally, the event featured booths showcasing indigenous delicacies, creative handicrafts, local agricultural products, as well as relaxation massages and clothing workshops. Savor the aroma of roasted wild boar, browse colorful beaded accessories, and try pounding tribal mochi. Complemented by a fun lucky draw, these activities immerse visitors in the lifestyle and aesthetics of indigenous communities, embodying the idea that “culture isn't just a performance—it's a way of life to savor.” This Saturday, we invite everyone to join the festivities, experience the rich and unique indigenous culture, and embrace the joyful atmosphere of this celebratory gathering!
