Autumn Night Magical Adventure Play: The Ghost Chef and the Mysterious Case , Open Theater Group's New Production Premieres at Huludun on October 25
Date:2025-10-02
In the fall of 2025, the stage will transform into a magical world of thrilling adventure! The Open Theater Group is launching its highly anticipated new production, " The Secret of Long-Lasting Tea 15 – The Ghost Chef and the Mysterious Case", which will have its grand premiere on Saturday, October 25, at the Huludun Cultural Center Concert Hall. Inspired by Taiwanese cultural symbols such as the "Seventh and Eighth Lords" and the "Burning of the King"s Boat" festival, this play combines music, dance, drama, and multimedia effects. It invites families and children to step into a magical world that blends Taiwanese folk beliefs, fantasy adventure, and children’s musical theater.
The Huludun Cultural Center notes that "The Ghost Chef and the Mysterious Case" breaks free from traditional folk belief frameworks by introducing entirely new characters—a mysterious ghost chef and a magical kitchen. Centered on themes of protection, warding off evil, and disaster prevention, the play cleverly incorporates food safety topics. This innovative production is a magical children’s musical that skillfully balances artistry, education, and entertainment. The story is filled with twists and thrills, blended with humor, conveying values of protection and justice. It also integrates the spirit of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helping children learn courage, integrity, and the importance of cherishing their health through the theatrical experience.
The Open Theater Group presents the story of a mischievous student named Lasa, who, after getting into trouble, is taken under the wing of a ghostly chef known as "Boss 87." Unexpectedly, Lasa becomes entangled in a mysterious case involving the "Flower of Dreams." As the "Hell Black Pepper Spirit" awakens, Lasa teams up with the ghost chef and a robot food cart to form an adventurous squad. Together, they bravely venture into "Virus Paradise" to battle lazy, corrupt virus monsters and a giant "Slime Mold Demon" in an epic struggle between good and evil!
This play incorporates themes of healthy eating, community inclusion, and sustainable development, making it an educational and meaningful cultural experience perfect for the whole family to enjoy.
Tickets for "The Ghost Chef’s Strange Mystery" are affordably priced between 300 and 600 NTD, with discounts available for local residents and package deals. The production aims to attract families from the central region to join in this artistic celebration. For tickets, please visit the Huludun Cultural Center information desk or use the Opentix ticketing system. This fall, bring your children and step into the magical kitchen of the Ghost Chef for a theatrical feast filled with wonder, courage, and laughter!
