The public piano is open for use at the Huludun Cultural Centre. People are invited to improvise their own melodies!

This summer, Huludun Cultural Centre in Taichung City is bringing music to life! From 19 July to 3 August, a 'public piano' is set up in the first-floor lobby, inviting everyone who loves music to play their own melodies. This weekend (26th and 27th July), students from the Music Talent Class will perform live flash concerts, bringing classical music to the city and creating a musical feast for all to enjoy.
Alongside the open piano experience, Huludun Cultural Centre will also present an artistic performance called 'Solo/Duet of Me and the World'. This collaboration between flutist Wu Cheng-Yu and video artist Chen Wei-Sheng, to be held on 16 August, combines live performances with Taiwanese soundscapes, local recordings and moving images to create a musical journey that engages both the senses and the mind.
'Solo/Duet of Me and the World' is not only a performance, but also a cross-disciplinary experiment in 'dialogue between art and the land'. Inspired by the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the performance explores the coexistence of nature, humanity, and technology through a 'two-part' dialogue between sound and image. It demonstrates how music can be another means of understanding the world.
According to the Huludun Cultural Centre, these two open and in-depth music events, ranging from free-playing pianos to performances combining sound and video, aim to transcend the traditional boundaries of music and allow the arts to permeate daily life, the city and the hearts of the people. Tickets for 'Solo/Duet of Me and the World' are now on sale at the affordable prices of NT$100, NT$150, and NT$200. There is also a special youth seating program.
