The Huludun Cultural Center will host a New Year calligraphy event featuring Spring Festival couplets on January 12.

As the Year of the Snake approaches, the Huludun Cultural Center invites you to join a fragrant spring celebration! This Sunday, January 12, local calligraphy masters will be present to create festive couplets and greetings, conveying New Year blessings through their ink artistry. On that day, 200 hand-written couplets will be available, and the public can choose from seven-character couplets or square calligraphy pieces at no cost, along with a limited edition Q-version snake-themed red envelope, filled with joy to welcome the New Year!
The "2025 Golden Snake New Year Calligraphy Masters Event" will showcase ten esteemed calligraphers, including Hong Mingzheng, Wang Jiayi, Yao Jicong, Huang Jinchuan, Wu Guoyi, Lin Rongfu, Li Chongyao, Ye Xiuhong, Zheng Rongfa, and Zhang Jiawen, who will create their works on-site. An opening ceremony will be held, during which the Cultural Center Director, Guo Tianyun, will inscribe the auspicious phrase "The Snake Shines Brightly, Welcoming the New Year" to convey blessings. As the Chinese orchestra performs the piece "Flowers Bloom and the Moon is Round, Joyfully Welcoming Spring," we will celebrate the arrival of a joyful and peaceful year.
Director Guo Tianyun announced that, in addition to calligraphy, the center's lobby will host a special installation art exhibition titled "Golden Snake in Color Welcomes the New Year This exhibition will feature a welcoming arch constructed from natural materials such as bamboo and flowers, with colorful snakes dancing and leaping beneath a sunlit dome. Additionally, lanterns and paper art designs will symbolize the auspicious snake welcoming spring. The exhibition aims to create a contemporary aesthetic and dynamic beauty, celebrating the vibrant development of Huludun while wishing for a bright future for the city. The display will extend from the lobby to the outdoor banyan tree plaza, illuminating a dazzling sea of lights and creating a romantic and picturesque night scene for the public to photograph and enjoy the festive atmosphere!
In addition, limited edition red envelopes for the Year of the Snake will be available for collection at the service desk starting January 14, while supplies last. The center will be closed from New Year's Eve until the third day of the Lunar New Year and will reopen on the fourth and fifth days to distribute limited edition cultural and creative lucky bags. On Sunday, February 9, we invite renowned writer and television host Hsieh Che-Ching to guide the public on a unique cultural journey themed "Hidden Treasures of Europe." Following this, there will be a festive event titled "The Snake Dance Celebrates Lantern Festival."
